Libby is the CEO of <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/wootrecruit.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>WootRecruit<\/em><\/a><em>, a hiring software company for the cleaning industry. She is also the owner of <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/organizeitswfl.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Organize It<\/em><\/a><em>, a professional organizing company and <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/organizeitswfl.com\/sweeps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Sweeps by Organize It<\/em><\/a><em>, which offers Residential Cleaning Services. Libby is also a certified<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/themaidcoach.com\/programs\/cbf-cleaning-business-coaching\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em> Cleaning Business Fundamentals<\/em><\/a><em> (CBF) coach.&nbsp;<\/em><br><br>As the owner of three businesses, hiring is a huge priority for Libby Garcia-DeLucian. With a system for speedy hiring, she\u2019s not just fully staffed, she\u2019s often overstaffed. But this wasn\u2019t always the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like many business owners, she struggled with hiring and keeping employees in the early days of her business. The stress of making sure she had enough people to service her clients often made her want to quit. Where were all the good candidates hiding? Why didn\u2019t people want to work? Why did they stop showing up?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What Libby eventually discovered was that a better hiring process could prevent many issues she had with hiring and keeping employees. She needed to be proactive, instead of reactive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p>Libby\u2019s system for hiring fast is made up of three strategies. She says she has seen companies master these strategies and fill their open positions in six days.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/get.zenmaid.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zenmaid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/free-trial-banner-1.png\" alt=\"\"><\/a><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are the three strategies Libby uses to hire employees quickly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"heading-1\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Strategy 1: Know who you want to hire<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who is the perfect employee for your maid service? Just like you have an ideal lead for your advertisements, have an ideal employee in mind when you write your job listings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re having trouble figuring out who is your ideal employee, start by focusing on a generation. There are four generations in the workforce right now: Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Gen Z. Which one fits best for your business?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You could also have primary and secondary targets for hiring. Libby prefers to hire Baby Boomers and Millennials.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What attracts a baby boomer doesn&#8217;t necessarily attract a millennial, so conduct some research to understand how you can become an employer they want to work for. For instance, Baby Boomers tend to focus on benefits and pay, while Millennials value culture and work-life balance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, employee preferences can vary by city. Try to understand the specifics of your hiring area and review job listings to see what other businesses are offering their employees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/9vgz1Js3XS8VkqUOcom-oaSb2hlDSSmhH6bslgoyMNlrOALlGnzwCAOLS5CEb-fnObg41CApIoXOBIZEOCZPaKnnU6hdgeg_rzyqJlV7YL89LdWoYEXm-umm_Uryg3lPlJOA1Z0v\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"heading-2\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Strategy 2: Write \u201csexy\u201d job descriptions to attract your ideal employees<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you know who you want to hire and what they\u2019re looking for in employers, write job descriptions that highlight their preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Go beyond listing duties and responsibilities. If you\u2019re targeting Millennials, include information about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zenmaid.com\/magazine\/cleaning-company-culture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">your company culture<\/a>. If you\u2019re targeting Baby Boomers, highlight that you offer top pay and list all of the benefits you provide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While traditional benefits are usually out of budget for new or small companies, you can get creative with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zenmaid.com\/magazine\/maid-service-employee-incentives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">perks and incentives<\/a>, especially if you barter or partner with other local businesses. Some ideas include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One-week of paid vacation after a year of employment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A day off for birthdays or work anniversaries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quarterly chiropractic adjustments or massages<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restaurant vouchers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oil changes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gym visits or memberships<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t list anything you can\u2019t actually offer. Employees will lose trust and quit if you make false promises.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/pK4lyRT-9K_zcI9l2uwlgA4WUj718wHeBqn8aFPqw6zC-Ovp1sMjxjUj3hl9YZJcuuo_rgLKOPbnzjiy7HWho7wJQ2m5wl3MeC6c3UFFYPmyZWm64ThH9IdZrjm6hFb4jI_xY1LX\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"heading-3\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Strategy 3: Aim for a hiring process with the speed of Amazon.com<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each time you fail to respond quickly to a job applicant, you\u2019re losing money. People are likely applying at multiple companies and a slow response could drive them to your competitors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aim for same-day or next-day delivery of responses to job candidates and bring them in for interviews as fast you can. This speed can be difficult if you have a manual hiring process, so <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zenmaid.com\/magazine\/automations-maid-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">automate<\/a> the process with software such as WootRecruit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Businesses are competing for talent, so if you know who you want to hire, and they\u2019ve responded to your ad, don\u2019t let them get away.
