You\u2019ll learn the big do\u2019s and don\u2019t of social media graphics, and whether or not outsourcing your social media is the right move for your maid service. Your graphics are responsible for grabbing the audience\u2019s attention, drawing them in to learn more &#8212; or not.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"heading-3\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Text<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The text on your social media graphic is very important. If you have too much text, your audience will get overwhelmed. It\u2019ll either be hard to read, too much to read, or just plain unappealing to look at.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When there\u2019s too much text, your audience will probably scroll right past your image. To prevent that from happening, you need to keep that text down to a minimum; less is more. If your post requires a longer explanation, you can use the caption to elaborate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/bFAkLWumgASncuFR8PPIlVsW-iNmtrPDIBEJmqDVPrrdh6ZjPbZiHvyA-riy387ECBqumkzjwggVgt1aUE23RLlCDLYt-wUuT6vdHZU95dAQ2l8k_SFYS5FS_EivSTdHx-HomkXo\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: Unsplash &#8211; magnet.me<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to keeping text at a minimum, you need to make sure the font is a size that scrollers can easily read. 95% of social media users scroll from their mobile devices, so small text is extremely hard to see from these smaller screens.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To test out your font size, save a copy of the graphic to your phone. Can you read the text easily with a glance at your phone screen? If not, you might need to reduce the amount of text, enlarge the font, or both.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"heading-4\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Image<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Creating your social media graphics is not the time for scrapbooking. In most cases, you\u2019ll want to limit one image per social post. This helps prevent your graphic from looking overloaded and therefore overwhelming the audience. Again, less is more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"heading-5\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Relevancy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Always make sure your graphic\u2019s image is relevant to the text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"heading-6\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Branding<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your social media graphics should reflect your maid service\u2019s unique branding. Without displaying your maid service\u2019s branding, your graphics will be easy for others to copy and use for their own marketing. It sounds crazy, but it happens. If you put in the work to make great social media graphics, the last thing you want is someone stealing it for their gain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll go deeper into the topic of branding in just a minute! But first, let\u2019s jump into the social media DOs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/rxCOb80zIHvmFvJJbcsDC_GVS6lEhSSwpSVD7uQkq2xY-kO6ZTswc5Xe8ROgx5HkGSWS8TSipar2XKEVSi8OUcc1q1qlNZzgcSlDT-GmHmXKWu9NfG5NlzaBEIVw5rnlr-mNrbcZ\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"heading-7\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Social Media Do\u2019s<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The graphic above is a great example of what to do with your social media graphics. We\u2019ll refer to this graphic in the examples below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"heading-8\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Text<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see, the text is minimal with impact, with a font large enough to read from a small screen. This company hooks the audience with an enticing headline of, \u201cEnjoy Summer! We\u2019ll take care of the cleaning.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"heading-9\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Image<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This graphic has a single effective image that makes it easy to read the text on top of it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"heading-10\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Relevancy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While the image doesn\u2019t portray a cleaning service, it is relevant to the text. It gives the audience a picture of how fun their summer can be if they\u2019re not bogged down cleaning. It\u2019s simple and effective!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"heading-11\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Branding<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The company\u2019s logo and contact information is displayed on the graphic, making it easy to identify who the company is and what direct action to take.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/v_69M3-Xypr7JyDFlQxNYSLpS1lKHAT-IGnOgDQ8p2zxaOYD6yB_D2kBlhMPVUPTTze_8LTk4PB2rhjpAAc77xMXd7onwSc7YDI0sjX9r9OjFYKF7rYIK05jr68Whre86RbQFXyQ\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"heading-12\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Branding on Social Media<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Branded posts on your social media are extremely important for visual appeal and brand consistency. Put simply, branding refers to how your company is presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re just starting your maid service, you can build out basic branding elements for free using a tool like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canva.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Canva<\/a>. As your business grows, it\u2019s a great idea to hire professional designers and writers to take your branding to the next level.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"heading-13\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key components of branding<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To get started, here is a checklist of your basic branding elements<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Design a company logo<\/li>\r\n<li>Choose your main fonts<\/li>\r\n<li>Choose a color palette<\/li>\r\n<li>Write a company mission and vision statement<\/li>\r\n<li>Write your company\u2019s origin story<\/li>\r\n<li>Decide on core values<\/li>\r\n<li>Write a tagline<\/li>\r\n<li>Consider what tone of voice you want your marketing to portray<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/get.zenmaid.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zenmaid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/free-trial-banner-1.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"heading-14\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What sets you apart?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Capture your company\u2019s unique selling proposition, or in other words, what sets you apart from the competition. When you can communicate this effectively, you\u2019ll be a memorable business in your community.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Do you offer a niche cleaning service?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Do you have satisfaction or money-back guarantee?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Do you have a mission to help the homeless in your community?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Do you offer free cleaning services to marginalized families?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Do you offer discounts to single moms?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Do you offer speed cleans faster than any other service?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Do you offer on-call cleaning services for special occasions?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are so many possibilities for what sets your company apart.
